Fat is a major source of energy for dogs and cats. Feeding your dog pizza or giving your cat fat from a steak does not count as the type of fat your pet needs. When adding fat to your dog or cat's diet, you should be thinking about essential fatty acids.
You can provide your dog or cat with essential fatty acids through a whole foods diet or through supplementing. Without adequate amounts of essential fatty acids, a variety of health concerns will likely occur with your dog or cat.
